Sárkány Erika is a Pharmacist and Economist, graduated in Pharmaceutical Science, specialising in Clinical Laboratory Medicine. 

After several years of clinical laboratory experience, she specialized in external quality control of medical laboratories, which she participated in launching in Hungary in 1997, and has been working in this field ever since. 

Since 2006, she has been the managing director and professional leader of QualiCont Nonprofit Ltd, which is an independent and impartial Hungarian External Quality Assessment (EQA) Provider in medical field.

She is an auditor according to ISO 17043 and ISO 9001 standards, member of the National Accreditation Council, having held the position of its chairman for 5 years from 2016. 

She has been a member of the EQALM (European Organisation For External Quality Assurance Providers in Laboratory Medicine) board from 2011 for 6 years and has been also continuously working in several working groups of EQALM. 

In addition, since 2013 she has been participating in the work of the EEE PT WG and since 2014 in the Eurachem WG.
